An important part of lean is keeping updated and getting new ideas. LSI always incorporates new lean organizations into the highly acclaimed Japan trip. Collaboration of the Century

The 3 gurus of Lean: Dr. Jeffrey Liker, David Meier and Mike Hoseus did not disappoint at the much anticipated Lean Strategy Summit!
Each author offered their expert take on the personal struggles of applying lean from participants.

Media coverage by Business in Vancouver is a vehicle for the rest of Vancouver and eventually the rest of North America to gain some much needed insight on lean methodologies.

Lean Champion, Sponsor and Team of the Year!

2009 Lean Champion - Craig Rachwalski

A round of applause goes out to Craig from Fireplace Products International.
Craig won this year's prize for Lean Champion of the Year.
He graduated from the LSS Blackbelt program in 2006 and is recognized by his peers and superiors as a creative problem solver.

2009 Lean Sponsor- Jeff Adams

This year's sponsor of the year is Jeff from Canadian Pacific Railway (CP Rail). CP Rail incorporated in 1881, so as you can imagine tradition for this organization runs deep. Trying to implement a culture change here is no small feat but is exactly the mission Jeff chose to take on. Jeff is admired as a leader with a clear and unwavering vision.

The all new 2009 Lean Team- Herb Vielhaber and the Cascades Team

The passion and solidarity of this team blew away the judges. The nomination the Cascades team submitted for Herb demonstrated so much passion and solidarity, that a whole new category had to be created. And the Lean Team of the year award was born.
Congratulations Herb and the Cascades Team for redefining teamwork!

Japan Trip Winner!

All nominees for the Lean Champion, Sponsor and Team of the year were entered in a draw for one free Japan Trip spot.
Richard McKerracher was our lucky winner - Omedetou Gozaimasu (Congratulations in Japanese)!

LSI, David Chao's first book!

We've all told him: "David, you should write a book!"
And now it's finally become a reality!

LSI is very excited at the release of Lean Reflections - the world's first "lean" coffee-table book.
The inspirational book is a must have for all lean practitioners, who may be ready for something unique and different from typical business books. Most of the photos in the book were taken by David himself, making this book feel like a collection of fond memories.

The books come in a variety of covers for you to choose from. These books are available for purchase online: www.blurb.com/user/store/leansensei
Please visit our blog for more information on the book: www.leanreflections.com

The world's first lean coffee-table book, Lean Reflections, is a completely different kind of book because it delivers a message in the form of 290 photos.  If one picture is worth thousand words, then 290 equals to 290,000 words!

This book is dedicated to all lean evangelists who believe in the power of lean to inspire people, transform lives, and create a better world.  It was produced with the hope that lean champions, leaders, and evangelists will make a difference in the world through lean.

Special thanks go to Lean Sensei staff, associates, friends & families, clients, partners, and contributors who made every moment in this book a truly special occasion.

"I believe in the power of lean to transform the world in a way that we cannot even begin to imagine."
David Koichi Chao
